Clothing is an important pack of your packing essentials, especially when traveling to India. Westerners are used to the
cold climate. Though they may find the warm weather soothing, it can also get a bit distracting. The new weather can make
you feel uncomfortable. For the clothing basics, here are some tips:
What male travelers in India should wear
A lot of travelers are seen wearing shorts, especially in warmer countries. In India, however, it's better to use cotton
trousers to protect you. Especially when staying outdoors, you'd want to be protected from bugs and bites. Basically, you
want to pack in two pairs of shorts, long pants, and about 5 comfortable shirts. You should also include some casual wear in
case you'll be invited for a formal dinner or will be visiting an establishment. You don't need to pack so much as you can
always buy some clothing there. If you want, you can even blend in with the locals.
What women should wear when traveling to India
Tank tops are not always the best for female travelers in India. As much as possible, women would want to bring some
comfortable but more decent clothing. They can wear cotton skirts or trousers. They should also bring some comfortable
footwear because they'd certainly love to tour around India to shop, dine, and simply imbibe the culture.
Packing list on your Indian vacation
Aside from a set of comfortable clothing, you must also pack some medications, prescribed or over-the-counter, for allergies
and common infections. You'd also want to bring some camera because India is truly an interesting place. If you're here to
explore, you might want to pack lightly and leave some room for some exotic finds you can take home with you.

There are a lot of populated areas in India. If you're from a cool place, you'll either find the warm weather soothing or
get a little bothered by it. To have a worry-free trip to India, it's better to be prepared. See your doctor before you get
on that plane flying far east.
India travelers guide: vaccinations
Travelers are advised to visit their physicians months before their scheduled trip. Consider getting shots or vaccines for
malaria, yellow fever, measles, rabies, and hepatitis. Miles away from home, it would be a real hassle for you if you'll get
yourself ill in a foreign land.
India travel guide: medications
From antibiotics to antihistamine, you must have a medicine kit with you so in case of any allergy attack or infection,
you'll get yourself treated right away. Also bring a prescribed medicine if suffering from a health condition that requires
maintenance. To be safe, bring the prescription with you. Make sure that prescribed medicine or over-the-counter drug won't
cause any trouble with you getting access to the country.
Safety tips when traveling to India
Get yourself your own map. Some places in India are populated, and you can easily get lost. Make sure that your travel
documents are secured along with your credit cards. Be careful when dealing with the locals. Try not to offend them. What
you can do is to learn a little bit more about their basic customs and tradition.

Ever heard of leisure tour in India? Aren't all tours a leisure already? An Indian tourist guide explained to me that when tourists flocking in India prefers to see all the tourist must-see destinations in their country, that is what Indian locals call leisure tour. Such leisure tours give tourists the recreation they prefer after their very busy schedules. On the other hand, the leisure tours usually cover all the prime areas in India that are very popular among tourists.

Now that I have defined what leisure tour is in India, its destinations are the next thing you should know. The major leisure locations in India are the destinations that give tourists fulfilling and healthy recreations, including the bars, restaurants, art galleries, arts and craft centers, theaters, and other noted tourist spots in India. When you get to visit those places, that is when you can say that you have fully experienced what Indian leisure tour is.

The major leisure tour locations in India are not just the country's common tourist locations like the natural landscapes, silver and sandy beaches, hill stations, places and forts, and wildlife and garden sanctuaries. You should also visit famous spiritual and sacred locations in India where you can experience religious elevation, such as the Taj Mahal, the Ladakh, the Varanasi/Benaras, and the Golden Temple.

We all have weird and crazy places here and there in all parts of the world. There are the rough and rugged nighttime streets of New York, in which becomes among the busiest places of the world during the day. You just don't know whether the roughnecks are vampires, or they're just scared shit of the sun! But in India, there's this wild and crazy street called Pahar Ganj, and it's in Delhi. This is a street wherein the combination of the modern digital age and the ancient times vaporize into rather obnoxious clouds of purple smoke.

Kashmiri businessmen hold a certain notoriety when it comes to street hustling and other rough stuff. Yes, these witty businessmen have migrated into other parts of India because the tourism in Srinigar, Kashmir is in its all-time low. They have, of course, made the actual streets of Delhi as their prime business platform. Yes, specifically the street of Pahar Ganj, and this adds to the craziness of the place! The totally bad reputation of these businessmen is based on the fact that they are, indeed, the smoothest and slickest talkers I have ever heard! If you want to be conned-out of your hard earned cash in a rather smooth way, then you've come to the right place!
Saturday, July 29. 2006
Pahar Ganj has about a ton of shops and whathaveyous that sell almost everything there is to sell! From cheap shirts to food, you name it, and if these stores don't have it, they'll get it for you in a jiffy! Now that's what I call pure customer service. But this place is actually among the bustling communities of Delhi. This street is considered as a prime commercial spot in the city, and prices of land and rent here have tripled over the years. There's even the most revered business establishment in India to be actually found on this street. You guessed right, a cinema! I just can't figure out how so much people could squeeze themselves inside a medium-sized theater house!

A few months ago, I discovered yet another great place to stay in India. The city is called Haryana. For Indian travelers who are not familiar with the place, let me refresh your memories. Whenever we in and out of Delhi, or whenever we travel to Agra, our tour bus is made to pass on Haryana roads. This 44,000 square kilometers of land is the twin sister of Punjab. Now, do you remember?
Haryana is the lush fields and lakes with floating temples that we see on the right window, and the industrialized city on the foot of the high peaks on the left. I just happen to learn of this city during my flight to Agra. My fellow passenger told me of his relaxing travel to Haryana. Indeed, when I came there, I checked out the resorts and enjoyed a relaxing sauna bath, and what else, delectable Indian cuisines.
It is best to visit Haryana on July when the weather becomes real hot. I went there some time in August, and I tried to visit the famous beach resorts and beautiful lakes in town. So far, I liked the lake Karna, a manmade one, dedicated to the Mahabarata epic. It contains eucalyptus plants, clear waters, and various species of rare fish in India. On the other hand, the lake Tilyar is perfect for kayaking, while Sohna lake is the place to be should you want to see traces of gilding in the shallow water. There were also gardens, inspired by Japanese artistry, to treat tourists with healthy eating lifestyle.

An Indian travel is never complete without learning of its culture. There are as many places to visit as there are people to meet. One of the beautiful and worth visiting city is Gujarat.
The city of Gujarat is known for its rich traditions. It was said that these customs could be traced back in the Harrapan era. During those times, the people of Gujarat are already living in a civilized society governed by laws. Evidences of such story could be seen in the well-preserved rituals as well as their dances and songs. Unknown to many, Gujarat has withstand the test of times has been a witness to the transformation of India. Also, the great Mahatma Gandhi stayed in Gujarat and has long been hailed as the holiest man in India.
Indian festivals have never been more grandiose in Gujarat. Add to that the magnificent temples all over the land that invite thousands of visitors annually. Gujarat has fused the magic of rituals and strength of faith by preserving their culture in a manner that copes with then chaining times. At this point in time, travelers could still feel the ancient Gujarat in their sacred temples and forts. Oh, I forgot to mention that although Gujarat does not have beaches, the lakes are astounding and considered sacred.

A perfect holiday getaway is spent in beaches. I do go to island resorts especially when I could find time to have a vacation from my work. What I like about beaches is the soothing environment. Few people overlook the beauty of resorts, but for me I go to beaches to get closer to nature and clear my mind.
I do not deny the fact that with every beach I go, I expect the best amenities it could offer. I am fortunate that Goa Beach did not fail me. Well, let us just say that I found paradise in Goa. I thought it was the ordinary sand beach with cottages and coconut trees and luxurious hotels. But, this little Eden in India is truly remarkable, and unique in its own ways. I call it one of the wonders of Asia.
I tried to learn as many facts as I could about Goa. So far, according to the brochure given me by the hospitable staff, the beach is a fusion of diverse cultures. It was apparent that religion has the greatest influence in Goa. Aside from being a resort, it also showcases fantastic landscapes. Outside the beach, the city proper boasts with magnificent temples and cathedrals. I understand that the people here, though they have different religions, have managed to live in harmony. I was even amazed by the spectacular Dudhsagar waterfalls. It is one of the most astonishing sights I have seen in Goa.

Have you always wanted to live on a boat? And you think that's implausible nowadays? Well, no! You can always experience living on a boat, a floating house, even! It's called a houseboat in India, and it's a really surreal experience. A houseboat is like living in a real boat, only, it has complete ammenities; more like a yacht.
But, India's houseboat is truly traditional and cultural, in Kashmir, or " The Venice of the East", there are so many houseboats on the river, you can just rent one, the peddlers would take you around the waters and tour you around to see the glorious mountains and lake sides. You can also visit the water vegetable markets, you can do everything while in your houseboat, hey, your house is floating!

The weather condition is an important consideration in traveling to any country. In India, one should be reminded of the monsoon seasons that define the Indian continent. For the most part of the year, that is, until September, heavy rains or floods due to high and low pressures from the Indian ocean prevail.
Other people may see this weather type as a nuisance. However, for farmers, monsoons have become an aspect in their way of life because of the crops they harvest. For travelers, this is vital information; who would want to completely enjoy their stay when it is pouring hard?

Do you think that camels only exist in Egypt? You can have camel tours in India too. This is a very, and I mean a very unique safari trip. You get to go through the desert state of Rajasthan to camp beneath the clear and vast night sky. You'll also experience the authentic Indian culture with the men and women all dressed up in their native costumes. Indian men and women would sing their folk songs and dance around the bonfire just like an ethnic festival.
There are also reenactments of the past wars, which took place right in that same desert; they would tell the stories about the warriors and valiant Rajput. This is one fun, roughing-it-up experience that India can bring you. Just hop on the camel and begin your wildest, camel safari adventure.

While in India, it's important that you experience the palace on wheels. It's really a majestic experience! It's a trip onboard a train. The journey begins at the Delhi Cantonment Railway station and for a week, you will experience the great history of India, the rich spices, the vibrant colors, and the wonderful stories and myths of India's great nation. The hosts are donned in colorful Indian attire, and as tourists ride the train, they are welcomed with Garland cords around their necks. The train goes to Pink City of Jaipur, passing through Chittaurgarh to the Lake City of Udaipur, and other magnificent places like Sawai Madhopur, the deserts of Jaisalmar and of course, who wouldn't miss the much talked about Taj Mahal, a massive Indian structure, and one of the world's seven wonders!
